Bushnell 4200 Tactical

A Boot Hill in Subiaco, or the Far West Cemetery

plaques of deceased relegated to oblivion, anonymous. Wooden crosses planted in the ground, crooked, worn from the sun. Mounds of earth surrounded by weeds. Unmarked graves where human compassion is denied even before the Christian compassion.
Ma forse, come appunto sosteneva Foscolo, la tomba reflects the life of the buried, becomes a message to posterity the essence of who is buried there. But the unlucky ones who lie there, have not had the chance to choose. The message that those who leaked and then back to this choice has done for them. And if so, well reflects the condition of the City of Subiaco, unable to think to live, careless to the dead. Negligence which emerges from the conditions of the cemetery, and as someone already noted, has the main entrance unsafe, the decor is often reduced in disastrous conditions.
not spared from the stupidity, not even a monument to the fallen of the Great War, where collections are also the tombstones in memory of Earl Emilio Blenio, Captain Garibaldi and his fallen comrades at Subiaco and one in honor of Louis Pistoia, one of 1000, which alongside Giuseppe Garibaldi laid the foundations for the unification of Italy. In fact, the post flagpole as a sentinel of these daring, there is bent like a reed marsh, and no one seems concerned to restore its honor.
Nothing more to add, let the pictures, certainly more powerful than our words, the task of illustrating this corner of Far West in Valdaniene.

How To Make Popcorn Like Garretts

Subiaco, a future written in the past

contacted us il geom.

Sicuramente il traffico è la vera piaga che tormenta the old town of Subiaco.
The little "vision" in the post-war reconstruction plans involved the retention of the layouts of the nineteenth-century roads, not able to withstand vehicular and pedestrian traffic today.

to remember the lack of attention to the problems of the old town and, in particular, its traffic can be cited more or less recent three episodes:

- the doubling of track on the side of the arch of Pius VI, who has sacrificed a of the square, but not solved in any way the queuing of cars on the Via Cadorna, indeed irretrievably destroyed the monumental alignment perspective in the context of the first (perhaps only) era of urban interventions in the city, at a time, that of the 700's of great change, ended in 1838 with the cutting of roads by way of the Via Nova and Corsa, obtained demolishing the existing building;
- the accommodation off Camporesi that merely furnishing and without addressing pedestrian, more appropriately, the need for a pedestrian link with the area of the Gardens, taking advantage of the fifth wall probably just buried with the construction of the street stock;
- l ' unsolved problem of the external variant, which is a clumsy attempt on the banks of the river (not taken to the extreme only for the stubborn opposition associations and individuals) is variant from the building to the Subiaco Hospital, certainly more useful but still a long and unique achievement, certainly would have been more appropriate accommodation of the existing road on the left and right bank of the river, which would have resulted in benefits immediate.

The old town has meanwhile continued to suffer from traffic congestion and pollution. No need to review the monitoring data to realize how Via Cadorna, squeezed between high-rise buildings, is terribly polluted, just having to walk or transit.

What to do in the concrete waiting for the traffic of private cars has revolutionized global scale, as is hoped? Some

proposal would result from the foregoing considerations, we try to summarize them.

1. pedestrian link, perhaps mechanized, Camporesi off from the main car park, schools, the market area;
2. improvement of existing roads, Saint Lucia - St. Lorenzo, Riarco - Fall, S. Vito, Pope Valley,
3. redevelopment of the Gardens, to the destination of the same name (well represented in the cadastral map of the Gregorian) as a green lung in the service's own neighborhood of factories and all Subiaco, also in order to lighten the mix of pedestrian and vehicular traffic in Cadorna streets - Cavour, which could well be if not for pedestrians at least freed from parked cars;
4. Housing recovery of the most degraded of the old town, the only one, albeit commendable, renovation of the facades is not sufficient to maintain the social value of the ancient city;
5. strategic use of empty due to the destruction of the Second World War:
- the one area of the Mission by the large estate of public buildings and green spaces to the area above the former Monastery of St. Giovanni Battista;
- the other the Piazza del Campo with the surrounding areas and underutilized buildings, the former cinema Narzio (about what happened?) And especially the former paper mill.

short, to adopt the titolo di uno dei workshop della manifestazione,
“specchio del passato, cantiere per il futuro”.
